These amphibious floats were designed using CAD to the highest levels of aerodynamic and hydrodynamic principles.
Downwind Technology is proud to introduce the newest addition to the Shark Series line; the toe-wheel equipped Quad Amphibian. Designed to be durable enough for rough field use, the Quad amphibian is readily adaptable to most any airframe, and the elimination of the nose gear reduces drag and results in improved performance. The pneumatically retractable nose gear is constructed of 6061-T6 aluminum mounted to an internal bulkhead with its own waterproof compartment. Magnetic reed switches mounted to special stainless-steel air cylinders trigger cockpit mounted position lights to confirm individual gear extension and retraction.
